My Favorite Avon Fragrance
My favorite Avon fragrance is LYRD Honeysuckle Blossom Eau de Parfum. It comes in a 1.7 oz spray. It is a bright floral that lets you shine. Sparkling notes of delicate apple blossom, lively honeysuckle nectar and radiant vanilla orchid. It is a soft floral scent. I love the way it smells and it lasts all day on me. I apply it on my neck, wrists, inner elbows and behind my knees.
To ensure the best performance and longevity of a fragrance, I found that it's recommended to apply it to pulse points and allow it to dry naturally without excessive rubbing. This allows the fragrance to interact with your skin's natural oils and unfold as intended by the perfumer.
I think that is why the same fragrance can smell so differently on different people. It does interact with your skin's natural oils.
Here are several factors that can affect how it smells to you:
Body chemistry: Each person has a unique body chemistry that influences how a fragrance interacts with their skin. Factors such as pH levels, skin type, and natural body odor can alter the way a perfume's notes develop and blend with an individual's skin chemistry. This can result in variations in the overall scent, making it smell slightly different from person to person.
Skin type and hydration: Fragrances tend to last longer and project differently on hydrated or oily skin compared to dry skin. Moisturized or oily skin can help retain fragrance molecules, allowing the scent to develop and linger. On the other hand, dry skin may not hold onto fragrance molecules as effectively, leading to a shorter-lived or altered scent.
Diet and lifestyle: The food we consume, medications we take, and even our habits and lifestyle choices can influence our body odor, which can interact with fragrances. Certain foods, medications, and substances can alter our natural scent, potentially affecting the way a fragrance smells on our skin.
Sensory perception: Each individual has a unique sense of smell, and our olfactory receptors interpret scents differently. Personal preferences, past experiences, and cultural influences can all affect how we perceive and interpret fragrances. This subjective perception can make the same perfume smell different to different people.
Considering these factors, it's important to remember that fragrances are not one-size-fits-all. When choosing a perfume, it's always best to test it on your own skin to see how it develops and interacts with your body chemistry, rather than solely relying on how it smells on someone else. So many times customers come in my store and tell me they want to buy a certain fragrance. I asked if they tried it before and they say no, their friend wears it and it smells great. I have them try a sample on and make sure they like it on them before they buy.
